Yesterday, we went to watch the steeple get put on top of the new church that they are building in the foothills. We heard that they were going to put it up at 1pm, but it took a long time. I guess the wind didn't help either. So, while we were waiting we hung out at a friends house where it was cooler for 1/2 an hour or so and then came back to watch them hoist it up and set it on top. We finally got to see it get put up there around 3:30pm.
Here is a scorpion that came out on the sidewalk! We have been living in the dessert for 5 years and have never seen one alive before! It was pretty exciting! Looks like he is missing his claw.
Trevor got tired of being in the hot sun, so we waited in the shade of the car.
I know it's hard to see but the guy in the red shirt by the crane truck is Brad Chadwick. He attends our ward. There are a couple of other LDS workers in other wards working there too but I don't know them.
Here we go!
See, there is a man in the middle to make sure it gets on right! Apparently there will be access to the steeple for some reason. Someone was joking that this is where all the lost library keys end up at!
There, all done! This is so exciting! We will probably have the open house for this building late August or early September. And then we get to start going to church there! Yea! It will be so nice because it is a lot closer to our house than the one we attend in town!
